As some of you already know, I am moving to Lake Nona in June from CT. My 3 year old son is now in preeschool part time. I am trying to find a good preeschool for my son, one that won't charge me $200.00 for part time 😩😩😩😩 I have called primrose (did not disclose few over phone) and LadyBug which stated $225 a week 😳...

I have a part-time job from home, not many hours, maybe 2-3 a day.. I just feel bad keeping the baby at home with me, he's already used to going to school and playing with friends. I am thinking maybe swimming, dance class, T-ball and library read alongs, maybe meetup with other mommies and kids his age, if the daycare fees do not work out with my budget......

Will I have access to sports, meet ups and a library within the lake nona community? Or will I have to drive out for these kind of stuff?

I just worry much about this new transition and how drastic it can be on the kids... My 12 year old and my 8 year old I am not too worried about, since they will be in school and making friends fairly quickly...

Hope to hear back from other parents in the area 😁

In the other thread you mentioned living in Moss Park -- which is the Moss Park Elementary School.

The YMCA is Northlake Park Elementary School. Both are in the Lake Nona area; but given what you've said are you sure your kids are in Northlake Park?

Just something to file away for the future, when your child is old enough to attend pre-K, half-day Voluntary Pre-K (VPK) is free in Orange County. If you aren't able to get in at a program in your local school (or your local school doesn't offer it), you simply print out a voucher from the OCPS web site and take it to a private school for free pre-K. It isn't income-based, but rather a way to provide free pre-K in a county that doesn't have the facilities to offer it in all public schools.

Wow this is great info, thank you very much....

I tried the YMCA but he would have to be 4 years old by September to enter their program.. I might keep him until he is old enough for pre-k.....

Once again, thank you for the Info
