Please.. could anyone speak of their experience, no matter how small, on special education in Volusia county? Public schools or private? I have a 14 yr old with Down Syndrome (and on Autistic range) no behavioral issues but is in a self contained 8:1:1 class with OT/PT/Speech and is non verbal but communicates with ipad. He does well in class setting but have no idea about what the experiences are there. We are moving to Daytona/Pt.Orange/Ormond (maybe Palm Coast) by end of summer. Any any information or suggested questions I should be asking the schools. Thanks !

You would be better off going a little further into Seminole County. Volusia is not generally known for high quality education.
