Congrats on your decision to move to Orlando! Downtown Orlando is a great choice, I would highly recommend the Thornton Park neighborhood or any of the historic neighborhoods within immediate proximity to Lake Eola, this a very vibrant up and coming area in downtown which hosts many weekend festivals and has a nice community feel. Your housing options will vary from urban high rise condo towers to historic homes.. Here are a few resources that you may find helpful:

Official Website | www.downtownorlando.com DowntownOrlando.com
Thornton Park | The Neighborhood for Locals
Downtown Orlando Real Estate | Property Management - Short Sales - Buyers Agent - Rental Agents | Urbanista Brokers
Residents | City of Orlando

Best of luck with your housing search!
