Hi,

I'm looking for a place to fly sky lanterns (#4-6) in 34746 area. I can drive 10-15 miles if needed. Have you ever did or any idea where can fly these. Also do I need to get any permission? I'm guessing an open space away from buildings like parks in after hours.

Hope I get some details.

Technically, they are against the law because of the fire hazard potential.

As mentioned, it's illegal, not to mention a fire danger and just plain littering. Please don't.

Sure, it make sence it could be dangerous. But I'm guessing a wide open space where its impossible for lanterns to escape from?

You cannot guarantee where the wind will take them or if the fuel will run out before they land on something that is flammable like a roof top, a tree, grass, etc. Florida wildfires happen right in town. Been there, done that scare. So not a good idea, just like lighting fireworks when we are having a dry season.

Also I figure they could be dangerous for birds and wildlife wherever they land just like balloons that are let loose. We definitely do not need more pollution on our beaches.

Why don't you buy about 10,000 acres of land, go to the center, and light off your lanterns. Please don't call the publicly funded fire department if you set the place ablaze.
