Hi Jason,
I am a 20+ year resident of Orlando with over 12 years experience in real estate. How can I help?

I would recommend Redfin.com, it's a very good company with great agents. You get a part of the commission back to you, plus the agent's commission is based on your customer feedback. The amount is also based on the listing price, so your best interests are the focus. Their agents are also have a lot of experience.

Real estate agents don't typically work an entire metro area and those that do aren't going to have the knowledge or insight of those that focus on certain neighborhoods/areas. It's best to narrow down to one or two neighborhoods, then find an agent best suited by experience to those particular neighborhoods. Good luck!

I agree with Kyle- find someone who specializes in the area that you want to live. We randomly called a realtor who turned out to specialize in East Orlando. Our search took us to SW. She stuck with us even when we said she could refer us out- and I think it turned out ok, but it was like we were learning about the area along with her.

I also agree with Kyle. The only exception are Realtors who work exclusively with ultra high end homes and estates--in the greater Orlando are these would be over $1.5M or so. In that case an agent would be aware of the available properties in the entire region.

Hi Jason- you received some good answers (I don't recommend Redfin, but that would seem biased). Any idea where you really want to be or need help with narrowing? I do mostly luxury (I'm a Realtor) so I'm most familiar with SW Orlando (Dr P/Windermere), Winter Park and Lake Mary/Heathrow and also Longwood. I live in SW Orlando and stay updated with what's selling and what's available. If I can be of assistance, even with just providing answers or info, just ask. Best of luck!
