That's not true. Seattle has $15 minimum wage and prices are still the same. In N Out pays $12/hour min wage in San Francisco plus paid vacations and their burgers are not only higher quality than McDonalds, Wendy's etc but they are also cheaper for what you get. No business is going to charge $12 for 2 pieces if their competitors charge $5. They will go bankrupt within a year. The reason why higher minimum wage doesn't kill jobs is generally speaking there is more money being pumped through the economy. Minimum wage people are often the worst savers, so any extra money they make they pump it back in the economy.

That's how I feel about the minimum wage issue. While I'm more on the "get the min wage earners the skills to make more money" side of things rather than paying them $15, I just don't care for the lack of empathy that some display.

Except that you'll also price out unskilled labor. Kiosks and robots become cost competitive at $15+/hour.

Lots of studies show that youth and minorities get cut first when min wage goes up.

Look at certain European countries like Italy and Spain in terms of youth unemployment as an example

McDonald's Self-Serve Kiosks A Response To Higher Minimum Wage?

I agree that automation increases as wages increase, specifically in low-level jobs.

I'm only disputing the false claim that Joey was making that we would then see $12 for some fast food 2-piece chicken. No business owner would ever do that unless all the other competitors were charging $15 for the same type of meal.

I don't really travel at night here much, because of my sight-- but I am not scared of anyone - using wisdom is best - but improvements raises homes prices-- and maybe move the derelicts out

Maybe they closed it because they had "illegals" working there! Aren't you happy?
