Those aren't the most stellar socio-economic numbers and among primary reasons why the crime rate is so high.
Things have certainly taken a long slide down the tubes since I lived there (1988-2005).

As has been said before, though, most of the foolishness the city experiences is concentrated in specific, easy-to-avoid areas. I'll say, the vast majority of the Orlando Metro is nice and safe.

#1: I guess there was no crime in Orlando until the blacks & hispanics started moving in huh?
#2: What does a median income of $25k a year have to do with crime? It's above the poverty line for one person.
#3: What does a homeownership rate have to do with crime?

Are you saying that Minorities with a $25k yearly income that don't own homes are more prevalent to committing crimes in Orlando?

You may not like those facts, but statistics do not lie.

A minority with $25K yearly income that does not own a home is statistically more likely to commit a crime than a non-minority who makes 100K and owns a home. Again, may not be fair or politically correct, but that wasn't the question.

It has nothing to do with "minorities." A person in general who makes less than $25k is likely under-educated, less likely to own a home, and less likely to have the means to fully support a family, which would include extra-curricular activities, care at home, etc., and are more likely to be involved in a troublesome lifestyle of some sort.

Black and hispanics who make more than $100k and own homes are not as likely to live a "street" life either.

Do you really need us to answer these questions?

Crime has no boundaries. 2 guys from Parramore and South St. know the pickings are slim in their area so the go up to Maitland and load a stolen car up with other peoples property and go home to set up a fire sale. Repeat that scenario in Winter Park, Lake Mary, Thornton Park, Baldwin Park and dozens of places and the story ends the same way.

Perhaps most of the shootings are going on in concentrated areas, but again, no boundaries. 4 guys in a car see an enemy walking down Fairbanks Avenue and open fire which puts innocent bystanders at great risk because the clowns in the car cant aim and shooting sideways makes every shot a wild shot.

You don't have to be THERE because they can easily be WHERE YOU ARE.
