I do make a decent living. But we're talking high 100s, which to me, means well over 100k.

Yeah, OK. If you own/operate one of many businesses, work in areas of finance, engineering, architect,
actuary, dentist, attorney, physician, aerospace and defense, software engineer, airline, pilot..........

I disagree with some of these being in the high 100ks. Anyhow, of course some of these professions pay very well (dentists, physicians, and SOME areas of finance and aerospace n defense). Engineers and architects not likely.

But the person I responded to initially said "jobs that others don't want to do," and "all you may need is a high school diploma." Of course some business owners CAN make well over 100k. But my argument is the high school diploma only and jobs that nobody wants to do.

It's far more difficult than many think.

My pool guy came from Puerto Rico and within 10 years has 8-10 guys working for him he is doing fine.
My lawn guy has 2-3 teams working full time he does 17 of my properties.
My plumber 1 guy 1 truck he told me he did 120k last year just doing Home Depot jobs.

Everyone knows a few incidences, though it doesn't dictate the reality for the vast majority.

I get it, I'm doing fine too. But I'm not doing high 100s. I just think it's much harder than ppl think.

What jobs are there that nobody else wants to do and require no more than a high school education that pay $100K?

I didnt say the occupations I listed are in the high 100k range but simply over 100k.

You do realize that not more than 1/4 of the population earns $100k +.

tworent listed some occupations that could generate $100k a year if you are willing to work hard for it.

And how many of those do you think the economy will support, not to mention how many would compete for those few jobs? Sometimes one needs to sit back and think through all of the steps of logic versus the first couple....

First point: That was my question exactly.
2nd point: the other poster I responded to said HIGH 100s, I didn't say that you said that.
3rd point: of what population? In FL? Or the US? Look, I'm not saying it's impossible. But I also went to college and work in an industry that typically pays well. I'm not saying it's impossible.
4th point: yes I realize there are some professions that can generate over 100k. My responses have been to the poster who originated most of this discussion. Forgot who it was now. It doesn't really master to be honest. Jobs that nobody wants are not jobs that typically pay well. And just anyone with a HS DIPLOMA who works hard is able to make in the high 100ks is ........ A ludicrous statement.
