The Villages is an age restricted community near Ocala. It is LARGE. 100,000 large. Most live in single homes of varying sizes and finishes. There is one neighborhood of townhouses near Spanish Springs. There is a section or two that allows all ages, but otherwise, it's a 55 and up community. There is a high school as well as a K-8 charter school because they invite children of employees of the Villages to attend it as an incentive to work there. The schools are excellent. Each neighborhood is called a Village. Each Village features an adult pool with club house, bocci, shuffleboard and various games. There are also community pools that all ages can attend. Visitors to The Villages must obtain passes to use the facilities. There are three separate town square areas- shopping, dining, an a central area that features live music and two for one happy hour every night of the year. My mother lives there and loves it.
