All,

I am in the process of buying a second home in the Horizon West area of Orlando. I have only been to Orlando 2-3 times, but I liked what I saw in this area. Brand new developments, master planned, and it seemed to be booming. I close on a new home in the Waterleigh subdivision in late August.

I am semi-retired so I am not worried about work, schools, etc. Although, I do care about home appreciation.

What are your thoughts on the area?

How do you feel about living in a subdivision where all lawn care, irrigation, pest control, etc are part of monthly HOA dues?

Your thoughts on high density development? I have a house in Texas. In San Antonio you would never see a single family subdivision of single family homes with townhouses and apartments. In New Horizon, you have $800K lake site homes across the street from $250K starter houses.

Thanks!
