I am returning to Central Florida after being in Ohio for 15 years. I am a single senior lady (62) who is looking for an area where I can make a home. I prefer a townhouse style condo over a house but I don't wish to be in an area with all small children or rowdy UCF students. I originally lived in the then newly developed Lake Nona area. But it seems too pricey for me to return there now. I am on a fixed income and don't wish to play "keep up with the Joneses." Outside of going to The Villages which I would never do, does anyone have any suggestions? I am much too young to go to a senior living home (smile). I need to have quick access to the Universal / Millenia area - but don't want to live there for obvious reasons. Thanks.

I'm a few years older than you, also single, I live in College Park and I love it. Publix, CVS, hair salon, restaurants within easy walking distance. Great variety of people living in this area. It's very urban and busy, but I like that sort of environment.

The Mall at Millenia is 15 minutes down I-4.

I second this. It's by far one of the more walkable areas in Orlando, and a relatively short distance from the Turnpike/Millenia/Universal.
I was going to suggest some farther out areas, such as the newer parts of Windermere (lots of condo/rowhouse types) considering its proximity to the Turnpike, but then it's not walk-friendly AT ALL.
