I'm considering driving part time for Uber (after work and weekend mornings) but was wondering what the demand was in Orlando?

Any fellow posters out there currently driving for Uber? If it's not too personal a question, how many hours a week and what's the average take home?

I know only UberBlack is allowed to pick up at the airport (this would be ideal) but I'm not upgrading my car any time soon, unless Uber income is that dramatic and finances an upgrade.

I was considering nights at International Drive as well but might get too many drunk college kids in the car and that might be more trouble than it's worth.

Any feedback/input is appreciated.

Thanks

Uber is really great. I started doing Airbnb with one of my rooms and have been nearly 100% booked in August, September and already more than 50% in October. Every guest besides one has only used Uber to get around. Without Uber, they would have to call a taxi company, wait 30 minutes (most of the time they are late) and then pay a ridiculous price plus tip. With Uber, it's just enter address, car arrives in 5 minutes, no cash or tip to deal with at end of ride, easy!

If the service was good. You should tip. The tip is not included in Uber fee. Uber X rates per mile are not great for drivers unless you have a cheap old car.

You don't beed to tip in Uber, the CEO says that is one of the things they wanted to make clear (no awkward cash handling), however, if I'm going to the airport and the driver takes my bags for me and takes them out for me, I will give a tip. My tip in general is in the form of a 5 star rating because I know it doesn't take much for drivers to be penalized for less than perfect ratings.
