$150,000 Home in Central, FL? Can one find a decent (3 Bed-2 bath) property in a friendly neighborhood in Seminole, Osceola, or Orange counties for this price? What is important to my family is diversity in our neighbors. Our children are Hispanic and of color but that doesn't mean that I want to live in a majority Hispanic neighborhood, yet I don't want to be in a racist area neither. A safe environment with low crime rate is desirable for obvious reasons. I would like us to live in a community where my children can attend a good public school - free of bullying and be accepted. The property structure should be sound and everything in fairly decent working order. Ideally, I would love a piece of land with a manufactured home on it, but I am not closing my options to condos or town homes. Is this a farfetched dream?

I would look at Lake County, particularly Clermont.

Thanks for the reply. What made you mention Clermont? Can you elaborate a little more for your reason? Thanks again

I would say Davenport or Kissimmee. For that price range they have some pretty nice homes! Look at, Realtor.com

Agreed. Davenport and Kissimmee should work.
Also, parts of Lake County.

Osceola and Polk Counties have less than desirable schools. I mentioned Clermont because the schools are pretty well regarded, the housing is cheaper because it's more rural and there's an opportunity to get land out there.

Agreed. I'd throw in Mount Dora as well if not for its very mediocre Middle School and High School. Triangle Elementary isn't great, but Round Lake (where we are zoned) is pretty good. HS is really where Clermont shines over the rest of Lake County.

If you're open to townhomes as stated you can find 3/2 townhomes in decent areas with good schools in Seminole County, which would be my optimum choice for you regardless of price point if looking for family-friendly areas that are yet diverse. It's also fairly central to the majority of the Orlando metro area job market.

Hello brinkofsunshine! I have been researching Lake County and I have you to thank for this. I would have never considered it, if it wasn't for you. It seems perfect for my socioeconomic status; this is the best value in central, FL for me. Thanks again.

Hi kyle19125! It's hard to choose between Lake County and Seminole. Our dream has always been to live in Seminole County. We have an eight year old and a three month old at home and as a parent the school system pulls me toward that part of the state. Thank You so much for your input!
