Greetings!
This coming January, I will be starting my MBA in Daytona and my girlfriend will be transferring to UCF to finish up her undergrad. We'll be moving down from New York. I did my Bachelor's in Daytona so I'm pretty familiar with that area, but since my girlfriend will be attending UCF, it only makes sense that we move somewhere with equal driving distances to both campuses (with preference to her, since I will probably only be going to campus a few times a week while she'll likely be going 5x a week).
I was thinking somewhere in northern Seminole County would be optimal because of the easy access to I-4 and 417 (I was looking mainly at the Sanford area), with the addition of Deltona if the right opportunity presents itself. We are looking for a 1 bedroom apartment in the $850-$1,100 range. Again, I'm not too familiar with this part of the state and am unsure of the "reps" of these cities. If anyone has any location suggestions or would like to chime in on the Sanford area, please let me know! Heck, there might be a better spot that is located nicely between Daytona and Orlando. I'm just going based off Google Maps!

Go with Lake Mary, it's a nice and safe area. You can find a decent 1 bedroom around $1,000.

Agreed, Lake Mary is a great area. Winter Springs might be good to look into as well, but that will be a lot closer to UCF than Daytona.

Don't limit your "Lake Mary" search to strictly Lake Mary. Also check out West Sanford, which is pretty much the same as Lake Mary. Both have easy access to the 417 and I4.

Agreed and your rental dollar will go a bit farther since many of the uninformed consistently recommend Lake Mary and rarely if ever Sanford, where in most areas of the west side most are unable to differentiate between one of the other. Check out apartment complexes like Ballantrae, Solara, Lofts at Savannah Park or Bell Lake Forest.

Thanks for the specific complexes. Ballantrae and Solara had already caught my eye but I'll do my research on the other two.
