Are you bugging out ahead of this hurricane or hunkering down?

If on the coast I would very highly recommend moving somewhere inland, sooner than later so you're not stuck in traffic. Hotels are getting to be tough to find in some areas so maybe pick someplace like Ocala or Gainesville and look for a room online. A Cat 4 on the coast is going to create all kinds of damage and if you can get away would totally think about it since you could be looking at no power for days, if not a week or more.

Cat 4 could be months if it's a direct hit. Everybody needs to heed the warnings

I am in Deltona. We are prepared here as best as we can be. If I lived in coastal Volusia, I would be gone already.

Power loss for HOW long?????? months???? are you talking very rural area? what about "normal" suburb area - winter garden/windermere? Schools cant be out that long.... what do you do with a backyard pool and no power for that long?

OKay... I am hearing my ignorance - I do hope it provides amusement, but I honestly don't understand... A bad, bad snow storm would only cut power for a day at most! What happens if the power is out for ... a week? or a month? That means no stores open, no work, no traffic lights, alarm systems.... That can't be true????

Surprised that not many people are posting here. I've been monitoring details on this hurricane. I hope everyone stays safe. Does Orlando usually get hit pretty hard with hurricanes? That is something that always 'scares' me about moving to that part of Florida.

Charlie was suppose to be the worse hurricane to hit Orlando. Can't remember the category. Anyway we did not get any damage, Neighbor had a new small tree that bent over. Lot of wind but no worse than the wind storms we got up north, that we never got warnings for. Orlando is too far inland, that's why Walt put DW there.
