From the Orlando Business Journal... My question for you is, if you live in/around these areas, do you agree with the ranking in terms of your own personal experience living in these areas? http://www.bizjournals.com/orlando/n...798&j=76312201

I love living in Altamonte Springs, have been here 3 years. I have everything I need nearby (shopping, restaurants, activities), yet my neighborhood is quiet and I feel safe. I highly recommend it. I lived in South Orlando (Hunter's Creek) and East Orlando (Waterford Lakes) and I'm much happier living in Seminole County. If I stay in Florida I doubt I would move back to Orange County, and would buy a house in Seminole. Either Altamonte, Winter Springs, or Oviedo.

Rockledge & Winter Garden scored higher than Altamonte Springs?

Ocoee scored higher than Casselberry?

have these guys ever even been to FL?

I would have scored Merritt Island and Melbourne higher but I think they don't do as well on the affordability scale.

I wonder how Lake Mary and Longwood didn't make the list, but yet Ocoee and Winter Garden did...

I think because in both instances there are areas of town that drag down the overall score. Not that Ocoee and Winter Garden do not, but perhaps suffer less in the healthcare and affordability ratings..??

Much of Rockledge incorporates upscale Viera and Winter Garden has some very nice neighborhoods too. Altamonte Springs has some nice areas but is a good bit older in terms of housing stock, of which a good portion has not aged gracefully. The same (and to a higher degree) applies to Casselberry, while Ocoee has added a lot of new housing.

Oviedo number 1 eh? Hopefully this keeps up so I can make nice profit on a house I own there in a few years.

When I got to Ocoee, I wondered a bit about the list. Ocoee certainly has its share of scary. But most of our cities do. I rather like how we mix it up here, people with extra money living near people with none. I like how it isn't all separated.

However, I haven't lived in any of those cities, so I cannot speak to how it is to live there. Many cities (including my own) don't appear on the list.

CFL is a nice place to call home. I think we can just leave it at that.

I'd score WG over Altamonte. I'm not a fan of Altamonte at all.

And I am not a fan of Ococee or Casselberry.
Oviedo/WinterSprings/Lake Mary are the best.
