Can anyone recommend a good hotel on a budget, meaning under $100? The hubs, toddler and myself are coming down on a premoving trip next month for 8 nights, so trying to keep cost down without ending up in a roach motel in some seedy area. I'm looking on hotels.com and am getting a lot of mixed reviews about lower costing hotels.

We are looking for something not too far from MCO, would be nice to have a pool. Anyone have any recommendations? We don't mind branching out into something nicer outside of Orlando if it means the price/area is right/safe.

I'd opt for doing the Priceline or Hotwire game. If you'd rather not bid on Priceline, check out the Express Deals.
Often times, you will get a brand name hotel. Use a website like betterbidding.com to help figure out what hotels you could receive for your preferred area.

Check out the newly remodeled Extended Stay America in Altamonte Springs which is a nicer suburb on the northeast side of Orlando, and is pretty convenient to most of the metro area. Rates average around $65 to $75 per night.

Near the airport your best bets will be the Country Inn or the LaQuinta. Everything else will very likely be over $100 per night.

$100 is a high budget for Orlando, you can get a nice hotel. I would do hotwire or priceline express deals. Just choose the area and go for 3.5 stars or higher to gurantee a nice place.

You could also consider renting a condo/townhouse for a week instead of a hotel. We used to rent at Emerald Island when we used to come down on vacation. We got a 3br/2ba townhome for $495/wk - no tax, no hotel fee, no parking fee, just $495. I would look on www.vrbo.com

And it was nice, and had a pool and a tiki bar.

Just another thought.

I'm currently staying in the Hampton Inn in Debary, FL which is right outside Orlando. It's very adequate and has a pool. It's just over $100 a night. They have free hot breakfast which helps also.

Good luck!

Comfort Suites Orlando Airport--stayed there in the summer. Very nice -- pool & free breakfast & wifi. Free parking. Trust me, you don't want a low rated property--did that once to save money. Never again.

Check out Red Roof Inn in Ocoee. Interior halls and a swimming pool. Not fancy but I believe they're running a promotion where if you book at least 10 days in advance, you can get up to 20% off. Ocoee is just west of Orlando.

Just wanted to pop back in and thank everyone for your suggestions! I found a really great deal on a great resort in Winter Garden. A little far from a lot of the places hubs and I want to check out, but as driving around the area quite a bit and exploring was a priority, this actually works out really nicely! Thanks you guys!
