Hi,

My 20-year-old son is transferring to UCF and we have narrowed it down to three complexes: TIVOLI, THE PLACE AT ALAFAYA and THE VERGE. I am looking for a quiet, safe place. Please tell me the good, the bad and the ugly about each of these places. (PS- we know the Tivoli is unfurnished and that is okay).

THANK YOU!!!!!!

Out of the 3 of those I would recommend Tivoli. I knew many people that lived there and had positive experiences.

The other two are in a bad area where crime is a constant issue (break-ins, robberies, assaults, etc). The Verge has changed its name so many times since I started at UCF back in '09, and even more times before that. They must be on their 10th name at least. They get bad reviews and a bad reputation associated with one name, then instead of fixing the issue they just change the name and hope that people don't remember the reputation associated with the last name.

Tivoli is on the north side of campus just off McCulloch which in my opinion is a much better area. Just as close to UCF as the other 2.

Thank you. He needs a one-bedroom with the UCF shuttle that accepts pets and those are the three I narrowed it down to. I have read the same things, but the posts were a little older, so I wanted a more recent opinion. Thanks!!!

It seems weird that Tivoli is not that far from the other two places yet such a difference in crime rates. (I have also read that elsewhere, too). I am really leaning toward the Tivoli. There was an armed robbery there last year so I am being the worried mom.

Tivoli is good. My daughter's friends never had problems there.

Things happen and can't say but I wouldn't let my daughter stay in apartments on alafaya between university to colonial. Just a worse area from what I hear
