Been a while since I've been around here. Now living in Polk Co. and looking to buy a home in the next year.....preferably in Clermont, but we might consider staying in Polk for the right place. That said, one thing we've noticed in Polk.....absolutely outrageous water bills. Anyone know how water bills in Clermont compare?

Admittedly our issues could be at least partially failed maintenance on the part of our rental's management...maybe there are leaks we're not able to see....but I'm talking about bills 3 times what they were in when we lived in Lake Mary a few years ago. And I've heard comments here and there that Polk tends to be more expensive than elsewhere.

So in the interest of making fair comparisons when home shopping..... anyone know how the two compare?

We're in Clermont around Lake Minnehaha. Our water is from Lake Utilities (Utilities Inc.) not Clermont city because we are outside of city limits. Monthly bills typically run $25 when not having to water the lawn. Watering the lawn twice weekly runs it up to $125 monthly, sometimes a little bit more if it's been particularly hot. It's a good thing the afternoon storms are finally starting again. We're just under half an acre with two people and two doggies. We probably use a little more water than many because we are home most of the day and because of allergies, which means the bedding and the dogs need to be washed more than usual. Plus, we have a pool that occasionally needs water added.
