Hey guys,

I've been researching different areas around the Orlando area for possible relocation. Sawgrass in general, but especially its Plantation subdivision, caught my interest.

Does anyone know this community? Is it as nice and tranquil as it looks or are there any hidden issues that I should be aware of?

How far for shopping and entertainment?

I know the Orlando Intl Airport is very close, does this means the area is constantly suffering airport noise? Is it as big of a deal that it makes it hard getting used to?

What are most of the residents like (do most people keep to themselves or is there a good sense of community)? Are they mostly professionals or more everyday people? Mostly transplants, natives or a healthy/unhealthy mixture? Mostly older people, mature families or younger families? Are there many childless couples?

How are property values holding up in this area? Stable, downward, upward?

Please fill in any other details I may be missing.

Thanks a million!

First, let me say that Sawgrass is not an area of Orlando.

IF what I think you are thinking of are the multiple developments south of town with the name Sawgrass in them, specifially Sawgrass Plantation located at 12408 Sawgrass Plantation Blvd, Orlando, FL 32824, then you would be looking in the Hunter's Creek/Meadow Woods areas south of town.

When reading this post it made it sound more like you meant Broward county than Orlando because of the toll road Sawgrass Expressway that they have down there and the city of Plantation that is close in proximity to said toll road.

No, I had to look it up myself but there actually is a Sawgrass community in Orlando. It's just south of the airport, north of the 417 near the Landstar Blvd. exit where all the new construction is. Just west of Lake Nona.

I've been through here during rush hour and it's already congested and has bad traffic. Probably more than a new area should. They're building a new Walmart close to here so that will only heighten the traffic as well.

Thanks for the input thus far.

Ough, I was hoping traffic issues weren't big in that area. You'd think that being on the outskirt it wouldn't be too congested during rush hour.

How is it at other times?

Sawgrass is a development in the Hunters Creek/Meadow Woods area. Just because a developer builds a bunch of homes and gives the development a name doesn't mean that that name applies to the whole area.

True, unless the developer's name is Disney.

Uh huh......but the OP was specifically asking about the Sawgrass neighborhood, which is a part of the Meadowoods area.
