A city block is basically a 1x1 "block" of streets.

Default how many streets in a block?

...a block of 'how many' streets? Wikipedia shows a pic of a block with 4 streets connected to each other. and it says a block could be a square or rectangle.

The reason I'm asking is, because the street behind me got a petition to get 'no parking' signs installed on their street. However, in the City bi-laws, for some strange reason, it says, 'only full block requests will be granted'. Therefore, because the street behind me got 'no parking' signs, that meant the street beside me also got those signs. I'm assuming that's because it says 'full block'. To me, that sounds like a half a block. There are not any more streets connected to each other to make a 'full block'. Like it says in Wikipedia, it has 4 streets connected to each other to make a square or rectangle. Any opinions?

Could you contact someone from the city and ask them what constitutes a block in Orlando? I wouldn't think that Orlando has enough of a grid system to even use the term block in zoning.

What would make you think that? Even in towns of 500 or less people there can be city blocks. Property in towns usually listed by block number and lot.

To the OP.... they do not necessarily have to be a true rectangle or square. In a lot of areas streets wing pleasantly through neighborhoods so street may curve on some of the boundaries. And then again where my parents house was there were no side streets off their long street. Our house was in the 600 block and when you got to the top of the hill where the street intersected with a North South Street it was the 100 block.
Best advice you got was check with your city.
