Which 55+ communities in Florida do people believe are the best. I would be moving down from Michigan.

Default Hi there

To be completely honest, there are so many just in the Central Florida area, and it depends on the lifestyle you want and what is on your wish list. Amenities, location etc. There are alot of nice communities with prices for all budgets. I worked a couple of months back to catalogue a whole list of them not only throughout central Florida but for the rest of Florida aswell. For example, are you looking for a single family home or townhome. Is lake access very important to you. Where ultimatly would you like to be located in terms of drive time from certain areas.

If you have any other questions feel free to ask.

none, unless you want top of the world, or the villages. better to move close to pasco
seven oaks, frankly, i would rent. new tampa is nice, as wesley chapel and be aware- the taxes, and insurace!
homestead, but, only if you have been here. the villages are real nice, however you have the fee to pay roads etc.
if your heart is set, you really should rent, and try the life style. rents now are for a nice place, 800- 1200

What type of housing are you looking for, house, condo, mobile home? Do you want to be inland or on the coast?

Default Hi there

Well im a British realtor and i have to say that in this market, i would think it highly unlikely that you would find anyone prepared to do a swap, particularly as Solivita is a very nice area, and without wanting to sound rude, many of the communities on the 27 pale in comparrison. What i would recemmend you do is find a realtor who actively markets properties abroad. For eg, i do in the UK, you may also realtors who do in South America etc.

In terms of Brits in Solivita, im sure ther aprobably are, but i havent come across any. But i wouldnt let that hold you back. I say this with a great deal of experience that in my opinion, Brits are like a flock of birds. They like to fly together, however, by going it alone and not relying on the British ex pat community, you make a great deal more friends from a diverse cultural base. I began trying to get into the Ex pat community when i moved here, then i married my wife who is American and i rarely keep in touch with them now.

Best of luck

I have friends who have retired to The Villages and absolutely love every minute. And, another newly retired co-worker will move there asap! If you feel you want a touch of 'MI" (minus the snow--but some of the scenry and beauty of MI) then try northern or north central FL. If you think you absolutely have to have sand, sun, salt water, etc. then move on down south. Don't forget the beach area of Destin, etc.

Default Brits in Solivita

There is a couple who reside in Solivita & are realtors, Richard & Niki Davies & he is British. There are many British full timers that reside in Solivita. It is a pristine community with excellent curb appeal not to mention a ton of ammenties & clubs which you can't do all in one day. Average age is 65.
