My husbands health insurance is covered by his contract company but he pays $800 a month for mine. I am 30's and in perfect health (non-smoker, no history of anything bad, etc..) I cannot imagine any insurance company here covering you

I would say come first and visit. Check out the neighborhoods and weather. Look around at the economy and jobs, then make a decision. The pound is spanking the dollars bottom right now so why not visit first? Need a travel agent let me know, I know a good one.

I want to thank everyone for there input and comments on my thread. The cost of medical insurance and uncertainty of what the cost would be if I was employed by someone out there , plus the fact that I at the moment could not get enough capital to buy a business in florida and suffer the cost of all things medical has bought me to the decision to not pursue the move and to try and ride out the total mess the labour government has put all hard working people here in the uk in.
once again thank you to all and have a happy enjoyable year in the sun
Ian
