Tampa is 40 mins away. You're close enough there

I've read that anywhere with good schools would be at least 45 minutes, but I'd love to hear some towns with good schools with a 40 minute commute to Lakeland on the coast!!!! Please share!!!!

Tampa (or the areas within 40 minutes of Lakeland) are not on the coast or even close. It's an hour or more drive time from the east side of Tampa to the coast/beaches.

I’m looking into FishHawk most likely. But I’m concerned about the commute. Many people say that it’s 40 minutes without traffic. But my husband keeps checking the app that tells you the traffic and distance and it says 38 minutes at 4:45. Does that sound right?

Google maps with live traffic on is more accurate than anyone here telling you. Just use it whenever the drive would be to get an accurate time.

That’s exactly what my husband did. Thanks

No problem! It's very accurate, I use it every single time I leave the house even though I know how to get to my destination and whether it's rush hour or off-hour, it's virtually always accurate +- a couple minutes. Good luck with your move!

I agree with this. Even when leaving work (office is downtown Orlando) I always check just to have an idea of how long my commute home will be, and which of my three possible routes are best at the current time. Normally, it’s near spot on.

Sometimes it overestimates the drive time if there is no traffic and you've got a lead foot
