Hello,

Does anyone have new details about the Legends in Clermont, FL? I read the golf course was saved and is now open. I am
wondering how it was done?

Alligators roam so now and then they do end up where they don't belong. When they do call animal control. They aren't much of a threat on land ... just keep your distance if you encounter one. In water it is a different story. Small children and pets are in danger. Adults not so much but it could happen. There are a couple simple but important rules. #1 assume any body of water could have an alligator in it. #2 do not go near waters edge and especially don't let kids or dogs go there. Alligators will hunt at waters edge and launch out of the water with much fury. #3 obviously do not swim where there might be alligators (waters edge especially). Follow 1-3 and you will never have anything to worry about.

The golf course has been renovated and complete. The golf course is been well-maintained at this point and golfers are using it daily. as for living in a gated community, legend is a secured community,
This is different than a gated community. Legends has roaming security, in Legends patrol cars. The front gate has 24 hour manned security. The gates are never left open. roaming Security will stop at homes with alarms are going off and then they will call the police, they will inform homeowners if garage doors are left open or if Wi-Fi bulbs are blinking. If you’re on vacation, they will come to your home and do a perimeter sweep if requested. The HOA rules are strict, this means you may not have freedom to put up a shed or even some lawn decorations, but it keeps the community looking clean and maintained. There’s a clubhouse with pool tables and ping-pong tables sauna workout facility, which is fully equipped, heated pool, spa to tennis courts, Pickleball, courts and basketball courts. Landscaping is well-maintained with waterfalls and water features. Quality of life is exceptional very little to complain about.

Good post! People really need to get off their "duff" and go out and look at some of the communities they claim to be interested in if they are REALLY interested. There are plenty of gated communities in the area, so it won't be difficult for someone to inspect several similar communities and decide which one, if any, meets their needs the best.

If the OP lives out of the area, I suggest that they take a trip to the area and take several days to look around and evaluate what they see. I definitely prefer the "gated" communities because it tends to keep the "rif-raf" out and helps protect the residents and the property values.

Also, they should talk with people in the community and see how they feel about living there and what complaints, if any, they might have. And, as I suggested in a previous post, check on the financial stability of the community. Personally, I prefer a community that is owned by the property owners in the community as I think they will have the best interests of the community in mind.
