Exactly. These types are so quick to point the finger, but you never see them step up and do anything themselves. Hypocrites! There are PLENTY of services for the poor, and if they really want to live outside, there is plenty of open swampland in Florida, they don't need to do it in a public park.

To the OP. I would not ask this question in these type of forums. They are more geared to blasting poor undesirable parts of town and lifting up rich areas with sometimes unrealistic expectations.

I would ask some of the shelters or churchses in the area.
Agreed. There are way too many pompous uppity yuppie type mindsets on here that look down on the poor on this forum. I'm not singling out anyone in particular but I'm sure there will be attacks on me for posting my opinion now. As a Military Veteran, I as well as other fellow Veterans have experienced this very behavior discrimination and condemnation mostly from those "upper middle class" folk who've never served and feel that the VA is the only answer to everything. I chose to serve and don't expect special treatment but crapping on the poor is also not cool neither helpful.

Sadly, in this country, the economic divide is not only increasing but the narcissistic attitude of the "haves" vs. the "have-nots" is pretty prevalent. One of the popular attacks you'll hear from them is, "well why don't you open your door / house them" but most of them will not offer a hand up. I'm not here to argue with anyone so don't expect me to respond.

Helping would be creating a government program to hire selected homeless people to do simple jobs like cleaning up highways, parks, streets and arresting those who are drunk or high etc. Having lived in very homeless friendly cities such as San Francisco and Seattle, I can tell you, supporting tent cities and homeless culture just ruins it for everyone. It allows them to stay addicted to liquor and drugs. It increases crime and litter. It ruins it for families and individuals who want to enjoy parks their taxes pay for. Etc.

If he is a veteran that was honorably discharged, there are more services available to him then you can imagine as long as he is not abusing drugs or alcohol. Huge If.

Hey OP, here is an offer. I will buy you a bus pass and a meal to get you to Tampa. You can look up cjairo when you get there. Or just sleep and crap in one of their parks.
Enjoyed your post!

Comparing San Fransisco and California cities is different than comparing Orlando. God awful cost of living in some California cities. This is one of those can't win arguments, especially with the despise of poor people in these forums.

As a visitor to San Fransisco it did not seem out of hand. But I have lived in Miami and visited New York many times. San Diego it was more visible than San Fransisco to me.

To OP yes, come to Tampa. I grew up in Orlando and it's one of the "image" heavy cities. It has to impress heavily cause it has King Mickey Mouse as a neighbor.
