If you like that area and ranch style homes on larger lots you should check out the neighborhoods just to the north of there just on either side of I-4. Along 434 just east of I-4 are some very nice custom-build ranch home subdivisions on larger lots in neighborhoods like Rolling Hills, Sleepy Hollow or The Woodlands. Just west of I-4 off of Douglas Avenue (which runs parallel to I-4 between 434 and 436) is another custom-build ranch neighborhood called Apple Valley which also has larger lots. All of these neighborhoods are minutes to Cranes Roost and the core of Altamonte Springs' amenities, yet in quiet low traffic neighborhoods.

I have interest in the area north of Orlando, Altamonte and Winter park seemed nice, I didnt get to check any farther, I was also interested in Maitland and Oviedo but I didnt get the chance to drive up due to time constraints.

I like one ranchers and 1 level homes in general and the vibe I got from the Altamonte area was good but again I didnt hang out as long as I wanted to and didnt explore many other areas. I like to have some private space, quiet areas, I prefer small home and larger lots over gigantic homes on a tiny square. A reasonable commute wont bother me. I didnt think those areas were all that far from Orlando but I was there on a weekend so who knows..

For now, Im in the very early stages of moving, still need to get financials straightened out, not quite jumping ship just yet. Still figuring out whether condo'ing or renting is an option to start with, but Im open to all ideas. I want to get as much info as possible before doing anything. Thanks for the reply!
