So do I need gasoline and a match? Found this in my house - about an inch and a quarter long... The black tentacle things wiggle very slowly and not all at once... Legitimately freaking out (have phobia of bugs)...

Don't use gas.

Better just to hire a pest service.

The bug company should come out and investigate. You dont want those bugs spreading or getting inside.

Good luck

Actually, been on a few calls over the years when people did gas and the outcome was NOT pretty

I recall seeing this in the national news some months back

Sometimes, you just just can’t fix stupid.

Wow, that's ugly. Probably harmless, though. Lol, if you have a insectophobia, you chose the wrong state to live in, that's for sure!

Taken out of trash, some were still alive - it is a nest of some kind.... the tentacle things are little worm-like things but appear to have stumps for future legs???? Pest service cannot come out till Monday.... All I am thinking is that their parents live somewhere in my house!!!!! Some were still alive - they move like... "do the worm" dance...

*Picture shows destroyed nest and odd body shape - especially in top left area. Second photo shows potential future legs.
