We are wanting to move to Florida from South Africa where our children - 14 and 10 years are in a private school. Could anyone tell me which schools are good, private or public - preferably public as it will be a huge move financially and other wise. I have looked on Google, but would like to hear what parents think. Thank you !

Lots of good schools... where will you be working? What is your budget? What do you want in an area be specific?

Lake Highland prep is a very well regarded private school and probably one of the most centrally located in all of the Orlando area. It is just a little north of downtown in the Lake Highland neighborhood (very desirable but can be very expensive for a nice house as well).

As bmw said, it'll depend on where you choose to live and work as well, as commute times in the Orlando can be VERY long if not planned out properly.

Your question will be best answered in the Florida forum, versus just the Orlando forum. However as a Florida native having familiarity with the better schools in the state I would point you toward national caliber options like Ransom Everglades in Miami https://www.ransomeverglades.org/, The Bolles School in Jacksonville https://www.bolles.org/, Pine Crest School in Fort Lauderdale https://www.pinecrest.edu/, Berkeley Prep in Tampa https://www.berkeleyprep.org/ or Trinity Prep in Winter Park https://www.trinityprep.org/

The population of Florida is similar to the entire country of Australia... you need to visit first, drive around the state and then come back with one or two cities to ask detailed questions about.
