Best electric company for what? You don't really get to pick who you want. If your property is zoned in Duke Energy territory, you're stuck with them -- likewise for OUC.

Honestly, the best (in my opinion) is FP&L. I've worked directly for Duke Energy in the past, and alongside OUC and FP&L. The least crooked and most proactive was by far FP&L.

I have no issues with OUC, Duke Energy... but then again I always pay on time.

There are some major issues with them that some consumers may be oblivious to. Duke especially.

This doesn't make any sense. The complex can't be fed by multiple utility companies. Whatever building you're looking at is going to be fed by a transformer, or a transformer bank. You can't have multiple utility companies on one transformer bank.

Not sure how that works, but my primary home uses Duke Energy and I’m really happy with them.

I’m only telling you what rental office told me I’m not making it up- I no nothing about these companies I’m not from Florida so I just thought to ask since he said you do not have to use who we suggest.

Yes, I know. I’m just informing you of how it works — it’s not just a Florida thing. It’s how electrical distribution works. Unless it’s a new building and multiple utility companies are permitted access to the right of way, it is not possible.
