There is still wood in the rafters roof and walls. Termites like wood.

Yes, true. I guess I'm surprised that termites would navigate their way up to the roof level of a home if they hadn't found a food source closer to ground level that they could follow up to the rafters. Live and learn. Thanks.

The interior surface of the block walls will have wood strips attached to them which run from the floor to the ceiling, and then on to the attic. The interior walls sit on the concrete slab and they likewise run from the concrete floor to the attic.

So, any tiny crack or crevice that allows the termites to get inside the perimeter of the house will allow them to get to the attic via vertical boards.

termites are determined, even on Concrete block homes. Yes it is more of a problem with frame homes, but still no reason to take a risk. I had one near me that had all the base boards eaten, only thing remaining was the paint.

You'll never be able to sell the house if you don't get termite bond.
