Right now we have 4 four minutes of red with 20 seconds of green. Lights are not timed.

What we need now is Smart Cameras that can tell when no cars are coming and the light can change on the fly. This will fix Orlando's issues.

So will FDOT step up to the plate.

You're aptly named. From your posts, you appear to have an aax to grind with Orlando...…

If you dislike the area so much, why are you staying here?

In his defense, FDOT is ASS... Take a drive down either Maitland Blvd through or Lee Rd, and you will see how the lights are not synced whatsoever. Terrible work.

Exactly. I go to Trader Joe's once a week from Lake Mary. When you exit I-4 at Lee Rd and turn to go west on Lee Rd after the light changes green, the light for traffic exiting off I-4 onto Lee Rd on the opposite side turns red, trapping you under I-4 for another light cycle. Truly stupid.

They are starting to do it. They did it to a bunch of lights in dr phillips not long ago. But i agree in general the light cycles are horrible in many parts of orlando.

Do you only complain about all these things on C-D or do you also take up these issues with the proper authorities? In other words, C-D members can't do crap about fixing:
  • Red Lights
  • Train Crossings
  • Brazilians at Orlando Attractions
  • Traffic in Orlando
  • Publix Supermarkets
  • People With Permanent Hurricane Shutters
  • Not Speaking English
  • Migrant Camps
  • I4 Death Trap
  • Robberies on Jews
  • Puerto Rico Water Bottles
  • Hijacked UPS Van
  • Tim Horton's Missing in Orlando
  • Kissimmee Robocalls
  • Puerto Rico Parade Causes Traffic Problems
  • Brazilian Butt Lifts
  • 10 more threads about Puerto Rico
  • Have I missed any?

THIS. I hope the people who complain endlessly about public interest things spend just as much time expressing their concerns to local, state, and federal officials as they do on City Data and Facebook.

A kid from Edgewater, FL emailed a similar complaint to Local 6 News.

"Ask Trooper Steve: Why do some traffic lights take so long?"

https://www.clickorlando.com/traffic...-take-so-long/

The video gives a more robust answer than the text on the website.

Thoughts?

I think the engineers should be fired because their calculations or formulas don't work well at all lol.

As an engineer, I feel the need to tell you, it’s not the engineers. LOL
