I am relocating to the East Orlando and I am seeking employment information. I am in the Professional and Technical Communications field. For example: creating manuals for software documentation, instructional design, graphic design (CS3), flash animation (Flash 8), video production, website design (Dreamweaver), narrative game design, technical writing and editing. Is anyone aware of any companies in East Orlando that do any of this kind of work? I am trying to secure a job before my actual move. Plus, does anyone have any idea what Disney and Electronic Arts pay salary is for Designers?

Default JHT Incorporated

Try JHT Incorporated. They are in Research Park, right next to UCF. They make training materials for the military and business. They need technical writers as well as web designers to make their presentations. I was going to intern there when I was a student but I got a better paying opportunity so I didn't actually work there. After taking the other job though I was I had :-) anyway, do a web search they post positions at their web site. Good Luck

Go to the Orlando Sentinel newspaper website and search for the Top Employers of Central Florida. Every year they list the top employers. Careerbuilder and Monster would most likely have most of the jobs in the area listed but you could go to Florida Hospital, Lockheed and Siemens websites to see if they have anything listed.

Good luck!

Check out Lockheed, Harris (Melbourne, but I know people that commute from east Orlando), Siemens, NavAir or NavSea (I forget which one has the office in East Orlando). I know they are hiring excellent, well qualified people...my son just got job offers from all of them. A current employee at the largest of these companies told me recently they had more job openings, than they could find qualified people to fill.
Good Luck and welcome!
