Hi,
I am looking to go on holiday with family in May 2009. Would like to rent a 5 bedroom house/villa for 2 weeks in Dr.Phillips or any nice area nearby. Whilst there i will be looking to buy a holiday home somewhere in the Dr.Phillips area. If anyone can recommend any contacts for me I would be much obliged. I've never been to Florida before but hope to have a good time with the children visiting the attractions,
Many Thanks

Default Villa in Dr Phillips area

Did you have any luck in finding a villa? We've been to Florida many times and love that area so would be interested to know of any villas in the area.

I am looking to rent a 4 bed Villa / House for 6-12 months in Dr Phillips from May 09 but seem to have problems finding a furnished one. Does anyone have any suggestions on this, I would even consider a big condo

I don't think short-term rentals are allowed in that area, which is why you haven't found anything.

Since Dr. Phillips isn't zoned for short term rentals, only the long term rental market (6-12 months) controls what's available in the area. And usually the market for those that rent upwards of a year or more do not require furnished homes.

However I did a quick search and did find a larger home in Phillips landing that can be rented fully furnished. It is not cheap though. What kind of rent where you looking for?
You may be better off just renting an unfurnished home and renting the furniture as well.

You should be able to find a nice variety of choices with a whole range of prices within those three links.
Good luck to all of you and wishing you a fabulous vacation!

Short term rentals are mostly found close to the park, mostly in Kissimmee. Your Windermere, and Dr. Phillips won't be the places to find the tourist rentals. Look towards Davenportt and Kissimmee and you will find properties like you want. Some others have posted a rental site that has thousands of short terms available. if you search the site you can find it. ---> orlando ----> short term rental

Thanks, I am looking to pay around 2,000 dollars a month, and as I said would consider a nice condo also. Need 4 rooms though

I should also mention that I am quite happy to rent for a minimum of 1 year for the right place. We will eventually be looking to buy a house in the Dr Phillips area as we will be moving to Orlando to libe full time

Instead of looking for a furnished home, just find something unfurnisehd and rent furniture from a place like Aaron's. It will probably be cheaper.
