Hi - my husband and I are moving to Orlando, and are looking into places to move.

We really like Baldwin Park, but when I looked up the crime map, it seemed like there was a lot of it. Is Baldwin Park a safe area?

Winter Park is obviously beautiful, but I'm not sure we can afford a place there.

Also looking at Lake Nona, but not sure there is enough there to keep up occupied.

Any other suggestions are welcome -
We need to stay within 20/30 mins of UCF
Safety is the #1 thing we are looking for in an area, followed by walkable activities/town centers/bike paths.
We love to go out to eat, do SUP and other outdoor activities, are into into health/wellness, and love going to local events/festivals (movie in park, outdoor markets, etc)

I'd go with Baldwin Park, you'll be fine, don't worry. Get some bikes and go on Cady Way Trail right from your door steps. You can rent SUP not to far away next to the Trader Joes in Winter Park.

Baldwin Park is one of the safest parts of the Orlando “core.”

I had plenty of choices, and recently picked it as my residence. Love it. Doesn’t get much safer.

Congrats! Love Baldwin Park.

Would love to meet up at Colibri sometime, it's our favorite waterside outdoor terrace in town.

Baldwin Park is great! The neighborhoods just outside Baldwin aren't that great.

Directly across the street is Audubon Park, which is a desirable neighborhood.

I was just about to say this. Tougher neighborhoods begin East of Semoran.

It's nice, but so close to Semoran and all the people with the cups -- it just scares me.

Baldwin Park is a great place, but I like Winter Park. The reality is that Baldwin Park is basically on the border. If you're close to Park Avenue, that's a plus given its shops and restaurants. It seems like many of the restaurants that get a lot of praise in Orlando are actually in Winter Park or on the border of City of Orlando and Winter Park.

Lake Nona is newer and promising, but it is far away from other the other happening places in the county. However, you can hop on State Road 417 to get to UCF if you want to pay tolls.
