Yeah, no thanks.

People who think that kind of mob "justice" is ok don't get my business. If you knowingly hire people who engage in that kind of nonsense (good luck with them as employees) I'm going to steer a wide berth. If you knowingly collaborate with people like that I'm going to constantly remind people that you're that kind of person.
I don’t always agree with the mob justice stuff either- like what happened with Dandelion Cafe and even Foxtail, briefly. To me, in this case it seemed justified. The owners can decide who they want as a vendor and as the face of their cafe. I don’t think Swan City Bagels was going to survive that kind of publicity, especially because that all went down at the same time as the BLM protests downtown. I remember the tweets being pretty bad, way worse than “mildly edgy jokes”. But, you can support (or not) who you want.

Yeah, that's fair I guess. I think what it comes down to is opinions about what's a joke and what isn't and whether or not you ever said dumb stuff when you were younger. and whether or not someone can take it out of context and use it to smear you a decade or two later (generally, not in this particular case.)

The bigger point for me is that the publicity was coordinated and manufactured. And if you follow the thread from swan City to the other cases you mentioned to proper and wild a lot of those people who are in the background all know each other. And all of this stuff happened within a couple of months of each other. This was never, oh did you see what she just posted on Twitter. It was always, let's see how far back in her Twitter feed we can go and see what we can find.
