Is Winter Park still a good area? (I used to live in Orlando) Is the hospital still there? Are the restaurants still there, (I think the restaurant block was close to Rollins College)? Do the surrounding towns have low crime? I'm trying to picture the main road that goes into Winter Park, is it 436, or I4, that's leads to the street with the train tracks before you drive into the part with the upscale homes, and there used to be a Jewet Orhopedic clinic on the left side of the street driving in. Thx.

It's even better than before. Especially along Mills Ave and Corrine Dr.

Hi! Winter Park resident. I love my neighborhood and Winter park continues to be one of the most desirable neighborhoods in Central Florida because of the access to schools, restaurants, entertainment, etc. As stated above, the area near Corrine has really grown up (between Glenridge Way and Corrine) but the whole area is growing. You're thinking of Orange Ave. Jewett is on the left and now there are a number of restaurants, coffee shop, pilates studio, design centers and retail on that road.

Thanks to both posters, glad WP grew so nicely, i used to enjoy go there when I lived and worked in Orlando. I was thinking about selling my house up north and going into an over 55 community or independent living place in SC or FL, they are much cheaper in the south, up here they want 6,000 a month for meals included!
I happened to notice one in WP called Allegro, but it looks like it situated between two main busy roads, so it might not be located in the WP area I remember, that's why I was asking.

Yes, that property is a little outside of winter park and on a busy corner.

Winter park borders the Baldwin Park area to the north and a little west. But… Baldwin Park is zoned for schools that share the Winter Park school zone. They have similarities in demographics but Baldwin offers a lot more multi family housing options in a small walkable neighborhood. Both great areas, just a matter of taste.

Definitely check out Baldwin Park. It's one of my favorite new urbanism developments in the Country.
