With that in mind, progress energy required two months' worth for a deposit, $640. Wow! I've never had a bill past $150 in nc, but we also currently do not own a pool.

Is anybody else in this position and can offer any advice? Does a pool tack on that much expense in utilities? Would this $320 bill be a typical expense for the above described house?

Thanks!

I'll tell you this, we are renting an apartment right in Clermont. Now granted there is myself, hubby and four kids. So the dishwasher/washer/dryer etc are going non stop every day. The place is only 1400 SQ FT in size. Are Progress Energy bills to me, are outrageous!! We are $355.00 a month! We want to rent a home but our deathly afraid to think what our electric bill will be if we were to get a home approx. 2000-2500 SQ. FT large. We have a friend in a 3,000 SQ.FT home salt pool as well, they are paying over $650.00 a month! Thet are going nuts. I dont know what is going on here, but Progress Energy is out of control. The prices have def increased and not by just a little. Because we used to have a 3000 SQ. FT home as well with a salt pool just four years before we moved away, and we were not paying nearly close to that. God, just when you thought things couldnt get any worse. Hope this helped.
