Hello
I am relocating to the Orlando area and am considering two areas . Altamonte Springs is one of them however most of the information and post I see are from 2014-2018. I know that Orlando has grown a great deal in over 4 years and cost have climbed a great deal since then. Can anyone share there experience about the area today in 2023.

I am single. And schools are not an issue as I dont have kids. But it looks like it has a nice lake, whole foods ( aways a plus) mall , movies and is not that far from Winter Gardens Downtown. Did not really see any nice restaurants it all looked like fast food or chain stuff. The area also still seems pretty affordable .

And the very popoular I4 is close by, which may not be a good thing but I dont mind taking the toll road (I4 express) to get around. Please advise. Thanks you in advance.

Altamonte Springs (the "e" is silent by the way) is very overlooked on this forum and given its recent infill around Crane's Roost Lake and the mall more desirable with decent walkability along with attractive amenities like Whole Foods and everything in/around it's thriving updated regional mall. The crime rate and nuisance factor is well below downtown Orlando's but close enough for social activities, as is Winter Park. Fine dining is a little lacking but there are some quality non-chain independents like Cafe Murano, Nonno's, Antica Pizzeria, Ootoya Sushi and Fig's.
