Hi,

Im looking for a place for my youth football team to practice. It has to be a lighted field, since we will be there when it is already dark during the week night. It also needs to be in the vicinity of Longwood/ Altamonte/ Maitland area. I have called many of the parks but nothing is working out.

Any suggestions?

Maitland Soccer Complex, Westmonte Park, Eastmonte Park. If you're willing to go a little further MLK/Lake Island park in Winter Park has plenty of fields with youth teams practicing at night.

Thanks. Eastmonte and westmonte were both a no when I called Altamonte. Westmonte doesn't have programs running at night right now so their lights are not on. Eastmonte has lighted softball/baseball fields and their fields are not allowed to be used for football.
Maitland...Lake Destiny Soccer Park... is locked every night that I have tried.

All of the kids are from Longwood... seems a little silly to drive to Winter park when 12 families are from Longwood.

Also Candyland Park was a similar answer to Eastmonte. Can't use the lighted softball fields, but at Candyland they said there is indirect lighting on fields near the softball field. Not ideal for youth practice.

Is your team part of a league? If not, perhaps assimilating into one might allow for more options. Are you willing to pay for space?

yes we are part of a league but its not town run, therefore they will file paperwork/permit/insurance with whichever park we choose. There are so many parks, but finding one that has lighting on at night this time of year is difficult. I am volunteering as a coach, so I won't be paying out of pocket.

Does anyone know if the lights are always on at night for Candyland Park?

It might be a bit outside of your desired area but I'd recommend checking out Sylvan Lake Park.

Thanks, I may have to do that.

Candyland park is now a NO because they are closed for field maintenance for another month, and in addition, they told me that they do not allow football as it may mess up the turf.

I am also thinking of Merrill Park...
