I'm thinking if we end up moving down there that I will get season passes to Disney for us. I figure the first year or so that we will probably use them a lot. My daughter and I probably more than my husband actually would.

For those of you that have lived there for a long time, how often do you really go to those places? I know we live a couple hours from two larger amusement parks now, but we never go. Of course our daughter isn't tall enough to ride alot of the big rides anyway, but we would most likely have to spend the night and it just gets to be too much.

So do you go alot? Or do you get tired of it all?

I usually go when friends or family visit, during the holidays, and sometimes during special events like the Food and Wine at Epcot or the like. I usually go about 5-6 times a year. The last time I went this year for instance was April and I will probably not go again until about October for Not so Scary (Halloween) but then will go several times between October and March.

I've lived in Orlando for almost four years now and have only been to Epcot once and Downtown Disney a few times mainly for the House of Blues. I have no desire to go to WDW. It could be because I've been to the CA Disneyland five times when my kids were young and we lived there. Some adults love Disney but I'm not one of them.

I think a lot of people are like that which just proves there is so much more to Orlando than Disney World!

=)

Last time I was at Disney, was when my nephew was 3 and my niece was 6...they are now 9 and 12. Before that it's when my son was 6.
Now that my son has a child of his own, I guess I'll be going a few more times lol.

I've been to Universal once....does that count?

My uncle had annual passes for years to all the parks....enjoy them.

We go to one of the parks at least 4 times a year. I have a relative that works there and many friends that do also that get us into the parks for free. I bought a Season Pass one year many moons ago and that was the only time in my life that I had paid to go to anything Disney.

When I worked there I would go a few times a month and never got burned out on it. There is so much to do that in my almost 30 years of going I have not gotten bored with it.

Thanks! I am a huge Disney fan and so is my daughter. I think we would probalby use the season passes enough to make them worth getting. If we move to Orlando or the Tampa area. If we end up in Jacksonville I don't know if it would get used as much.

I can't imagine getting burned out on it. It's not like I want to go every weekend, but it would be nice to be able to just go for Food and Wine at Epcot or the decorations at MK and stuff like that.

My husband has wanted to do Universal but the trips we've made to Disney I haven't been able to fit it in our schedule. There's just too much to do at Disney alone and I've been to Universal years ago, and although it was fun, I'm just more into Disney. So it would be really nice for him to get to try those out. I think he would enjoy those more.

But we wouldn't be moving down there for that reason. I'm interested in trying out a bigger city and enjoying the warmer weather in the winter. I don't think the summer heat will bother me as much as the winter cold does up here. I have lived my whole life in this small town and although at this point I'm content here, it would be nice to have a change of pace as well as more things to do as a family. And more opportunities for our daughter.

We've been here about a year, and we go at least once a month, more when there are things of special interest to us, like at Epcot, the Food & Wine, Flower & Garden, and the concerts that accompany those events. We did go more often around the holidays. What I really love about an annual pass is that you can go and do one or two things and go home, not worrying about having spent $75 for a one day ticket. We don't go much in the summer because of the heat and the crowds, but we did go see the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom on July 3rd (rather than the 4th), and that was fun. BTW - we're a family of two adults over 50.

I forgot -- the annual passes - we did Toy Story Mania like three times in a row during the previews - the last several times we tried to go, it was a madhouse. You can't even get to that area of the Studios, and one day we were there, the fast passes were gone before noon. So the annual passes do have perks. :-)

We also have Universal, have been a few times, so they're worth the expense, too.
