So, Hilton Vacations Clubs calls today, and I end up doing something I NEVER do....that is, go for the 3-night gig....and obligatory 90-minute (yeah, right...) time-share sales shpeel.

I was about to let the poor sales girl go, when she asks if I hold on just a sec and, wouldn't you know it.....her MANAGER comes on the phone.

Joys.

Nonetheless, I had some time, so I humored him for awhile, as I thought he was rather engaging...and funny, to boot.

Long story, short..he turned a $199 3-day deal into a mere $99 at this new Hilton resort on International. I figured, OK, what the heck, although my wife and I made a pact years ago that we would never, ever do one of these things again, a little getaway sounded pretty good...and the guy promised, PROMISED that we could walk directly after the sales gig...without fear of the high-pressure stuff.

We shall see.

Anyhoo, have any of you stayed at this place? My wife has been into the Tuscany thing for the past year, so that's what got my attention. I did go to their website and have to admit it looked impressive. But, then again, it's a website.

What say you?

Thanks!

I have not been to that resort but the "style" of sales they use is the same industry-wide. I have had experience with this and I will give you a few pieces of advice. First, be prepared to spend more than 90 minutes with the sales team because they are not telling you about the "tour" of the facility/resort that is not included in that time frame. Next, be very adamant about your intent on not buying. A friend of mine told them that she recently had a bankruptcy and they laid off her a bit. Have fun and enjoy yourself but just be aware they are after one thing...a sale.

Oh, I'd say I've participated in 10 or 12 time-share presentations in my lifetime. Trust me, I know the drill.

Oh, and trust me, as well, on this: We ain't buyin'.

That, said, 3 days in Orlando at a (seemingly) class resort for under 100 clams works for us.

@ABM...so my husband and I just did the same thing. We're heading to the Tuscany in less than two weeks. How was it? We've NEVER done a time-share presentation. What do we need to know?

The place is awesome! We spent only two hours of our stay in a times share presentation and will eventually buy. We stayed at an awesome place at a very cheap price. Sign me up for the next package please! Hilton is a total class act and this is a very cheap place to travel, we have also gone to NY this way.
