My 24 year old daughter just took a full time position working for Disney. Can anybody recommend good, safe, and inexpensive apartments that are close to WDW? It would also be great if she was by public transportation since her car is not very reliable. We are not very familiar with the area (other than vacationing) and this move is going to have to happen fast. Thanks in advance.

First of all, congrats to her!

Check out the LYNX public bus system: Welcome - Public Transportation Services for Orange, Seminole and Osceola Counties

You can see their routes and the areas they serve, and begin your apartment search there.

The area just north of the Magic Kingdom in Windemere will be closest safe area. Most CM's I know have roommates, there are some CM specific message boards on the Internet where she might be able to hook up with some potential new friends. Have her check Eyes and Ears, some apt. complexes advertise in there and offer discounts to CM's.

The area along the south end of International Drive and on Westwood Drive near the Premium Outlets and Sea World has a few nice apartment complexes that are very transit convenient and somewhat walkable even with shops/restaurants/etc nearby. I'm not sure what you deem as "inexpensive" but in a city with an average rental rate hovering at $900 a month, would urge you not to go to far below as the safety component drops exponentially the cheaper you go.
