I am in a bit of a predicament. My fiance and I are graduate students moving to Orlando to attend UCF in an upcoming semester. We have never been to Orlando and know nothing about the area. Where should i look to find quality apartments at great prices? keep in mind that we are on a very tight budget, but don't let that limit suggestions. We are basic people and really just want a 1 bedroom 1 bath apartment that is in a safe neighborhood. My fiance really wants something super close to UCF so she could possible take a bus/shuttle or ride a bike or something. Anyways, I dont really know much, so please give me some helpful advice, thank you

Look in Oviedo, there are many places right next to campus.

There are a ton of apartments nearby, but the quality you get for the rent you pay is horrible. There are plenty within biking distance, and virtually every complex near campus will have some issues with noise, vandalism, and theft. Students tend to not be respectful renters, and most of these complexes are at least 80% students.

Have you looked at on-campus housing? The university tolerates far less trouble than the apartments.

I liked at the Village @ Science Drive for 2 years, and I was extremely happy to move far from campus for my last year of college and commute. I knew people who liked Tivoli, which is right on the north side of campus. There really are a lot, so start here:

I just moved up to Orlando also and I love the Oviedo area. It's about 10 minutes to UCF and the area is beautiful. Our apartment is wonderful and the area is safe and quiet. I would definitely look up in the Oviedo/Winter Springs area.
