We may be going to Disney for Thanksgiving. We have a timeshare in another locale but have an extra "bonus" week to use anytime and anywhere that is avail. With the kids school schedules this is about the only other time we can go somewhere besides our other two weeks (already booked for next summer). There are several WestGate properties availalbe. Westgate Towers, Westgate Vacation Villas, Westgage Lakes, etc. We don't mind being a few miles away from the main gate of Disney and will have a rental car. We would like a nice, clean, decent room and resort to stay at. How does Westgate stack up? Is there one to get over another? One to avoid? Here are all of our options available to us that week:

Westgate Town Center
Westgate Towers
Westgate Lakes
Westgate Vacation Villas
Star Island Resort & Club

i used to work for westgate, and i would pick westgate lakes...they were the newest ones from the last time i worked there and that was back in 2001. I believe the towers are the newest... i do know the lakes has a lot of ammenities and is real close to sea world, and universal and not far from disney....have a great vacation!

When I left Orlando a year ago, several Westgate properties had a ton of construction going on. What they were doing really looked nice. So either they are still under construction or have nice new facilities to enjoy. Just make sure you ask the question before you book!

Thanks.

We don't mind something that might be a tad outdated (just not 80's ). As long as it is CLEAN!!!! And safe . And not too far from places to eat and where we want to go.

So far it is looking like the Towers might be our best option. They have a 2bed/3bath available. One came up at Mystic Dunes for our dates but I had not researched that location.

What attractions will you be doing most. Personally the Lakes are excellent and centrally located, and the Town Center is almost across the street from Disney.

Mostly Disney and Epcot. Still trying to decide what all to do. We get to Orlando on Sunday around lunch and leave Friday afternoon. Don't want to be "go go go go go" the entire time (I could handle it buy hubby NOT). Hubby seems to think that 1 full day of Disney would be more than enough. I'm not so sure. We won't ride EVERYTHING as there are some rides that are just not of interest to any of us. I already have the book to follow to get on the most rides . I'm thinking 2 days of Disney just so that we don't have to wear ourselves out and then a day at Epcot. ????? Any suggestions? The girls are 13 & 10.
