My wife and I are looking for a rental property, preferably a townhouse, in this area. Our plan is to rent it for a few years then eventually move into it or sell it for another property in the area. We are looking in the 200K to 250K area. Any suggestions?

Hmmmm, well not much to go on. But out of the two area's i'd go with Winter Park, maybe a home in the Brookshire heights or winter park pines area. Good area to live, good schools, close to hospitals, great WP shopping, and close to Full Sail so you have a larger pool of potential renters. They are older homes, so there are ample opportunities to pick up some for cheap that need work and would make excellent rentals.

However, what are your other investment goals? Where you looking to cashflow before tax considerations? Were you willing to do fix up? How long is a few years? I wouldn't recommend an investment in today's market if your only planning on holding it for 3-4 years. If you are planning to move into it, what in a house and area would you be looking for?

The classified section of the Orlando Sentinel is a good place to start. They have all the properties listed by specific 'area'....so it's easy to find. Good luck to you!
