Hi,
I am relocating to Florida in 6months time from Australia, with my husband and four daughters ages 14, 13, 11 & 5. We are staying for 18 months, possibly forever. I am an RN and am going through an agency to get a job. My specialty is critical care, cardiac nursing. I have told the agency I want Orlando, as I thought the area would be great for my family, close to attractions. Can anyone offer me ANY advise about my move in general or more specific, I would be most grateful. I really want family friendly areas to choose from when making the move. The agency has said they can't guarantee Orlando but I don't know where else would be good that is still near the disney attractions. Also, what is an LPN, I's thinking it might be equivilent to our EENs? Thankyou in advance. Oh...and is there rental houses or lge apparments that are fully furnished to rent? if so, how do I find these over the internet? Thanks heaps.

There are a number of family friendly areas in and around Orlando which may suit you, but without knowing what budget you are looking at is difficult to help you. Also, one generally finds furnished homes in vacation areas, thats not to say you wont find one in other areas but in my opinion the vacation areas arnt really the best area if your going to be living here as your neighbours change all the time and the schools without disgracing any one particular area in those areas dont generally tend to be the best. I do understand the questions and queries you have as im originally from the UK and had the same move as you are having so i have been through he process aswell. I assume you already have your visa's etc but you really need to know where you are going to be working because i could suggest an area but it may be nowhere near you will be working and as im sure you are aware everything here in Florida is spread out so its not inconcievable that in that instance you could end up having a 90min commute in traffic.

licensed practical nurse: a nurse who has enough training to be licensed by a state to provide routine care for the sick

Just do a google search and it will bring up all the info you need.
