We are looking at orlando and tampa for a possible move, but have a few questions. How are the bugs in these areas? I heard somebody mention "flying cockroaches" ? How about health insurance for self-employed? I am a landscaper and plan on purchasing an existing business down there as there are many for sale.

Yes, there are giant 50-foot flying bugs with jaws of steel that the residents must fight off with torches. Just kidding. The bugs are crazy here if you come from somewhere like Ohio, but they are manageable. Health insurance is terrible everywhere. And I would seriously not buy a landscaping business here now, there is no work to be had. I would do some research before coming here if those are the things on your mind.

I agree woth lizprof. The reason the businesses are for sale is that they have lost all their clients. My lawn guy had to let his assistant go after his business dropped by about half in the past year. Many lawn companies are cutting rates to be more and more competitive, to the point that they aren't really even profitable.
