I'm trying to find an extended cab pick-up in the $3000 range. I'm wondering what classifieds do you use? I've tried criagslist, autotrader, Orlando Sentinel, and Ebay. No luck! What local classifieds do you use for private sellers?

I would try Autos.com: The best autos ranking site to help you find your perfect car or stick with dealer websites. I've always been a little dubious about purchasing a vehicle from a private person but that's me.

I also tried the Treasure Chest. I didn't think it would be that hard to find a truck. Everything has too many miles. I was looking for something in the low hundreds. I guess I'll have to keep looking. If anyone has anymore suggestions, let me know.

Craigslist is the best in my opinion. You just have to search constantly, but when you see a deal that comes up, you have to act fast, because it becomes a race. One time, I just saw an ad for a used pickup that was just posted within the past 45 minutes, but when I called the owner, he said someone was already there with the cash to pick it up 15 minutes before I called. I was lucky in about a week, I found a decent li'l pickup that the owner posted in the morning, with no pictures which is why it probably didn't get too many calls, but I drove a whole hour to find out it was worth it, got it for less than $1000 and it was in decent shape. The deals are out there, you just gotta dig for 'em.

I agree! I'm on CL constantly waiting for a deal to pop up. I just get impatient sometimes, but I do really like CL.
