I guess this would be one of my first place to write. But, I moved into Kiss, back in Dec of 08. I honestly like it here. I feel we are a city within a city....and where others complain of the spanish, I really have no problem - from shopping, being personal, etc. SO IF YOU DO, then THINK...it is you with the prob.

But, my main irk is with the City of Kissimmee itself.

First....they let homeless run amuck in the city. Same thing was happening in Cleveland, OH..until Mayor White slapped pandoring laws. After a few months...they moved on to another less law oriented town.

WHen I have spoken to other business owners, they stated they tried to help as well. But what we have in Kissimmee are homeless ppl who do not want to even HELP themselves. The only law ppl have is the lame tresspass law. Spoke to police several times. Business owners have to help clean up the problem.

I have started at my restaurant. I made it clear to homesless ppl, I will personally assist them to my business door - with help if required. THey are not to come onto my property. But owners of 7/11, etc., refuse to handle this type of stuff.

It is not that I am being mean, but...when I was open and trying to be helpful...I would get 20 on my property per day. They want this and that for free, and they would chase after my customers in my parking lot. Once I got them off, customers started to come back.

I say...it is time for business owners to take back Kissimmee. (part 1).

Where in Kissimmee is your business located? I lived in Kissimmee for a while (and was homeless for a short period of time) it seemed like they were pretty strict on the homeless to me. There are no services or shelters like in downtown Orlando so there is no place for them to go.

Part II:

I was driving in Kissimme the other day, and noticed mall fronts empty. Yet, I will drive my new mall fronts and they are empty as well.

Then I started putting together all the DAMN permits and listening to officals on how I "SHOULD OF" done this or that, to get a simple business off the ground.

I believe that Kissimmee is so full of laws, that they have no idea how to keep up with them. I will tell you this, that if you set your business up in Kissimme, and you are from the North....you must make it through 2 months of HELL! After that, you will become yourself again.

So, then I started to realize why Kissimmee is 1/2 alive and 1/2 dead. PPL move to areas that are business easy.

Let me explain it to you. State within 24 hours. Vendors the same, via state. Osceola county...they love to give you hell, and Kissimmee...expect a week or more after this inspection and that one.

I saw one guy next to me, who got certified in plumbing. HE CLEANS PIPES OUT for a living. But when he went to RECORD.."Hey, I am doing business in Kissimmee, so I am here to announce and sign a form that I WILL pay my tax"....he was not permitted the ability to do so, because he didn't have so & so class or certificate. The guy was easily 50some. Much experience.

So we wonder why ppl do things under the books in Kissimmee. There you go. Seen it, done it...and saw it.
